Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday said that the statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) endorses government’s point of view.

Nisar addressing a press conference in Islamabad claimed and said “The ISPR statement was sent to me before its issuance, I get it approved from the prime minister and then it was released.”

The interior minister further clarified that the government did not ask COAS to act as “Guarantor or Mediator” but urged the military to act as a facilitator for resolution of current impasse.

Nisar further said “We used the word facilitator which is constitutional, and not guarantor or mediator which is unconstitutional. The military is deployed in red zone under article 245 of the constitution”
