As per reports, Ariana Grande’s current love interest, Ethan Slater, has recently taken steps to end his marriage with Lilly Jay, his wife and childhood sweetheart.
Grande recently found herself sharing screen time with Slater in the film adaptation of the musical “Wicked” and was reported to have started dating him. This news surfaced after it was revealed that she and her husband, Dalton Gomez, were no longer together, although they have not officially filed for divorce yet.
Meanwhile, Slater’s situation has moved at a swifter pace. According to TMZ, he has already filed for divorce from Jay. Having been acquainted since childhood, they tied the knot in 2018 and later welcomed a child into their family. The divorce may potentially bring about a custody battle.
TMZ further reports that Jay feels “betrayed” and “heartbroken” by the unexpected events, despite the divorce papers not indicating any specific reason for the split.
While some reports suggest that Grande and Slater’s relationship grew stronger while working together on ‘Wicked’, it’s clarified that they did not commence their romantic relationship until after they had separated from their previous partners.

Regarding the new relationship, an insider mentioned, “It’s understandable that emotions are running high and that it’s difficult to see your ex move on, especially in such a public manner. Her friends are trying to protect her, but Ari and Ethan are just trying to lay low and be respectful of their exes as they pursue this new relationship.”
