Apple is expected to launch the iPhone SE 4 in the coming days, and sales will start later this month.

According to a recent Bloomberg report, the latest iteration, the fourth in the series since its beginning in 2016, is anticipated to showcase significant design changes, align more closely with the iPhone 14’s aesthetics and feature notable technological advancements.

The new iPhone SE 4 is expected to ditch the traditional home button and Touch ID in favour of a more modern design featuring gesture-based navigation and Face ID. This marks a significant shift from the 4.7-inch LCD screen of the 2022 model to a proposed 6.1-inch OLED display, which will enhance user experience with sharper visuals and more vibrant colours.

Unlike Apple’s recent models, the iPhone SE 4 will not include a Lightning port. Instead, it will be equipped with a USB Type-C port, conforming to the latest mobile device standards. Moreover, the device is poised to integrate Apple’s first-generation modem, moving away from components supplied by Qualcomm. This change is expected to support enhanced connectivity features.

iPhone SE 4 Performance Specifications

The iPhone SE 4 will likely be powered by a processor as advanced as the A18 chip, also used in the iPhone 16. Paired with 8GB of RAM, the new model is designed to support sophisticated Apple Intelligence features, potentially increasing its appeal among tech-savvy users looking for high-performance applications.

iPhone SE 4 Launch Details

Sources familiar with Apple’s plans suggest that the iPhone SE 4 could be announced as early as next week through an update on the company’s website. This approach would avoid a traditional launch event, following the precedent set by its predecessor, which was introduced at Apple’s ‘Peak Performance’ event in March 2022.

While some configurations of the current iPhone SE (2022) model are reportedly out of stock at various U.S. retailers, it remains available on Apple’s websites in the U.S. and India. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to debut at a slightly higher price than the $549 starting price of the 2022 base model, reflecting the substantial upgrades in hardware and features.

As Apple gears up for this significant release, the iPhone SE 4 will offer consumers a blend of traditional iPhone practicality and advanced features typically reserved for its flagship models. This could potentially set a new standard for the mid-range smartphone market.
