Apple is set to announce the first update to the iPhone SE since 2022 on February 19, as suggested by a cryptic post from CEO Tim Cook on X, “Get ready to meet the newest family member. Wednesday, February 19.”
The announcement is likely part of a busy week for Apple, which includes expanding Apple TV+ to Android devices and updating the Vision Pro headset.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman initially predicted that the iPhone SE 4 would debut in the week of February 10. However, he revised this forecast to February 17, aligning with Cook’s recent update.
While there is no official confirmation that the announcement will specifically concern the iPhone SE 4, there is speculation that Apple might rename the device, which has been a part of its lineup since 2016.
The teaser from Cook features the Apple logo with a liquid metal effect, adding to the mystery of the upcoming product. Nonetheless, many anticipate the unveiling of a new iPhone SE.
The expected features of the iPhone SE include a 6.1-inch OLED display and Face ID support. Rumoured specifications include a scaled-back A18 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and AI enhancements such as Genmoji and a smarter Siri.
