A multi-party conference presided over by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is currently underway to chalk out the future course of action against terrorism.
The PM convened the conference following the terrorist attack on Army Public School here which left 141 people dead.
The All Parties Conference (APC) got underway at Governor House Peshawar with Fateha for the martyrs of Peshawar school carnage.
During the meeting, the PM praised sacrifices rendered by the military. “Our forces are making significant progress in eliminating hideouts of terrorists and destroying their sanctuaries. We praise sacrifices rendered by our armed forces during Zarb-e-Azb operation.”
He urged lawmakers and political parties to devise a solution regarding terror incidents.
The PM said army chief General Raheel Sharif would leave for Kabul to meet Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani and senior officials and discuss terrorism and militancy.
The moot is being attended by leaders of parliamentary parties, federal ministers, governors and chief ministers.
Representatives Awami National Party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Pakistan People’s Party, Qaumi Watan Party, Pashtunkhwa Mili Awami Party, Jamaat Ulema Islam-F, Jumaat e Islami and others were present.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan is also expected to attend the meeting.
