Anthony Edwards has publicly expressed his frustration, pinpointing Aaron Gordon as the source following a recent loss to the Denver Nuggets.
The Minnesota Timberwolves’ shooting guard was vocal about his grievances after Denver evened the series at 2-2 in the Western Conference semi-finals.
The Nuggets, finding their stride, have won the last two games, including a pivotal 115-107 victory in which Gordon played a crucial role. Gordon was nearly flawless in that game, scoring 27 points in 41 minutes and missing only one of his 12 field goal attempts. He also excelled from beyond the arc, sinking both three-point attempts.
Gordon’s performance didn’t just involve scoring; he also contributed seven rebounds, six assists, two blocks, and a steal, shooting at an impressive 91.7 per cent overall.
Post-game, when Edwards was questioned about the match, his response was direct: “I’m sick of Aaron Gordon.” His sentiment was echoed by teammate Rudy Gobert, who remarked on Gordon’s performance with a mix of resignation and awe, comparing it to legendary levels, “A lot of them were contested, so if Gordon turns into Kobe Bryant, we just gotta live with that.”
Despite Edwards’ outstanding personal performance, scoring 44 points, the Timberwolves struggled collectively. No other team member scored over 20 points. Karl-Anthony Towns managed only 13 points, shooting 5-18, while Jaden McDaniels and Rudy Gobert each added 11 points. Mike Conley was the team’s second-highest scorer, with 15 points.
