Lahore: Another girl set on fire but not in Abbottabad or Murree. This time the incident has taken place in metropolis Lahore.
According to the media reports a girl who married a man of her choice was allegedly set on fire on Wednesday in Lahore’s factory area.
The deceased girl’s mother named Parveen was taken into custody by police.
Police claimed that the girl identified as Zeenat was burnt alive. Zeenat had married a man named Hasan few days ago, police added.
Police took into custody Zeenat’s dead body and sent it for post-mortem.
It is reported that Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif while taking serious notice of the incident has directed police officials to investigate the matters and a report be submitted to him.
Love marriages are considered to bring dishonour to families in extremely conservative parts of the country.
