In a recent crackdown, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs overseas through a container terminal.
A spokesperson for the ANF revealed that a consignment of hashish was set to be exported under the cover of vegetables and fruits. The illicit shipment was intended for international shores, specifically targeting Doha, Qatar.
ANF’s Successful Raid
During a meticulous search at the Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT), the ANF team discovered over three maunds of hashish concealed within a container. “Upon examining a shipment of onions, our team found 125 kilograms of hashish ingeniously layered among the onions,” an ANF official remarked.
The ANF stated, “This container was registered by a private Karachi-based company and was destined for Qatar.”
After this significant seizure, the ANF promptly launched an investigation to apprehend all those associated with this smuggling endeavour.
