Muzaffarabad: The Azad Kashmir government has sacked two cabinet ministers from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) over a recent contentious speech by MQM chief Altaf Hussain.

Ministers Tahir Khokar and Saleem Buttt were removed on the orders of the AJK Prime Minister under Section 14 of the provisional Constitution.

Prime Minister Abul Majeed had given the ministers a 72-hour ultimatum to disassociate themselves from MQM chief Altaf Hussain.

The prime minister has announced protest demonstrations against the MQM chief on August 6. The minister had rejected the prime minister’s ultimatum.
