Cannes 2024 started with a notable presence, as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, accompanied by her daughter Aaradhya, was seen departing for the French Riviera.

The Cannes Film Festival veteran actress was photographed at Mumbai airport on Wednesday night despite nursing an injured hand clad in an arm sling. The duo’s stylish ensemble included Aishwarya in a black outfit with a blue knee-length coat and Aaradhya in a coordinated blue hoodie and black pants.

Media and fans at the airport saw Aaradhya assisting her mother with her handbag, highlighting her growing independence. Aishwarya briefly interacted with the media, waving and posing for photos before proceeding to the departure gates.

Social media buzzed with concern and admiration for Aishwarya’s resilience. Comments ranged from concerns about her condition to praises for her poise and elegance even while injured. Fans reassured her of her queenly stature and wished her well for the Cannes festivities.

Aishwarya’s association with Cannes began in 2002 when she debuted on the red carpet in a Neeta Lulla saree at the premiere of “Devdas,” alongside Shah Rukh Khan and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Over the years, she has become a fixture at the festival, representing L’Oreal Paris as a brand ambassador. This year, she joins a lineup of stars at the event, including Jacqueline Fernandes, Kiara Advani, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Shobita Dhulipala. Meanwhile, other celebrities like Urvashi Rautela and Deepti Sadhwani have also shared their experiences from the Riviera.
