Pakistan’s renowned tennis player, Aisam-ul-Haq, achieved a significant milestone by being elected president of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) at its Islamabad headquarters. In a nail-biting election, Aisam edged Major General (retd) Asghar Nawaz by a margin of 8–7, marking a historic victory as the first active player to lead the PTF.

Pioneering Leadership for Pakistan Tennis

Aisam’s ascendancy to the presidency introduces an unprecedented blend of professional athletic insight and administrative leadership to the federation. His four-year term is anticipated to usher in a new era for tennis in Pakistan, building on the legacy of his predecessor, Salim Saifullah Khan.

Alongside Aisam, Lt. Col. (retd) Ziauddin Tufail and Arif Qureshi have been elected secretary and treasurer, respectively. This new leadership team is committed to fostering the growth and success of tennis across the nation.
