Ahmad Farhad, a poet, lyricist, and media consultant with ties to multiple news organizations, has been taken into custody.
In a tweet by his wife, Ain Naqvi reported that Farhad was forcibly removed from their home. According to Naqvi, the incident involved the destruction of their home’s CCTV cameras and the theft of the digital video recorder (DVR).
The arrest has drawn considerable attention from the journalistic and political activist communities. Many speculate that Farhad’s detention is linked to his recent reporting on protests in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, which covered significant political unrest in the region, appear to be the catalyst for what many believe to be a targeted move against him due to his professional activities.
