U.S. authorities have arrested an Afghan national who entered the country under the “Operation Allies Welcome” resettlement program. The individual faces charges for allegedly making a terrorist threat.
The suspect, identified as Mohammad Dawood Alokozay, was taken into custody in a coordinated operation. The Texas Department of Public Safety and an FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force arrested on Tuesday.
According to a Fox News report citing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Alokozay allegedly posted a video on TikTok. The video suggested he was constructing a bomb intended for the Fort Worth area in Texas.
Court documents confirm that state-level charges of making a terrorist threat have been filed against him. The investigation is ongoing.

This arrest brings renewed attention to the security vetting of individuals admitted through the Afghan resettlement program. The report noted that Rahmanullah Lakanwal, the gunman in a separate shooting incident in Washington D.C. that injured two National Guard members, also entered the U.S. through the same program.
Operation Allies Welcome was established by the Biden administration following the U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021. The program was designed to evacuate and resettle vulnerable Afghans.

Following the recent attack in Washington D.C., President Donald Trump stated his Truth Social platform. He attributed the incident to what he called Biden-era immigration vetting failures.
Trump announced that his administration would “permanently pause” migration from all what he referred to as “Third World Countries.” He stated the plan would include terminating admissions approved under the Biden administration.
