Keefe D, the long-suspected figure in the haunting murder of the revered rapper Tupac Shakur, was in police custody last Friday. Notably, Keefe D had been notorious for taunting law enforcement concerning the case that had remained unsolved since 1996.

Tupac Shakur’s drive-by shooting in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996, left a void in the music industry. Following his arrest, reports by the U.S. Sun emphasized Keefe D’s pattern of ridiculing the police over their inaction, often stating, “The police ain’t gonna do s**t”.

Despite being at the heart of the investigation, Keefe D openly admitted supplying the firearm used in Tupac’s fatal shooting. Sources claimed that Keefe frequently boasted about his knowledge of the incident, even capitalizing on his perceived impunity by recalling the events of that tragic night at parties and gatherings.

"This was essentially the worst-kept secret in LA."

Inside Keefe D’s World of Crime and Gangs

Hailing from Compton, Los Angeles, Keefe D was no stranger to the world of crime. As the head of the South Side Compton Crips gang, his life was intertwined with criminal activities. In his 2019 memoir, “Compton Street Legend”, Keefe D delved deep into his journey, revealing his rise in gang ranks and leadership in a sprawling drug network. Adding to his audacity, he reportedly offered tours on the Las Vegas strip, retelling the night of Tupac’s murder.

When asked if Big Dre shot Tupac instead of Orlando Anderson, Keefe D gets mad and refuses to answer the question out of fear of returning to jail.

As justice seems to be catching up, Keefe D’s life of crime, mockery, and alleged role in Tupac Shakur’s murder will be tested in court in the forthcoming days.
