The 9th Muharram mourning processions are being taken out and Majalis-e-Aza being held across the country amid strict security on Tuesday to remember the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S) and his companions.
The 9th Muharram main processions in Karachi was taken out from Nishtar Park amid security.
The streets leading to MA Jinnah Road have been sealed with containers and other barriers as a security arrangement.
In Peshawar the main ‘alam’ procession was brought out in the morning from Imambargah Hussainia Hall.
While in Lahore the main process was taken out from Pando street Islampura. In Lahore, Over 2000 security personnel have been deployed on the routes of the processions.
In Quetta, the main procession emerged from Imambargah Nasir Al Aza.
Small and large 9th Muharram processions are also being taken out in other different cities across the country.
Arrangements have been made to provide milk, water and soft drinks to the mourners on their routes. Ambulances had also been arranged for the mourners to shift them to hospitals in case of critical injuries.
