Umrah visas for Pakistani pilgrims have been increased to a 90-day duration, announced Dr Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, the Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah. The move aims to enhance religious tourism as more sites in Makkah and Madinah will soon welcome pilgrims. Additionally, Dr. Tawfiq highlighted the efforts to make Hajj more affordable, given the strong ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The two nations have also agreed to increase their flights, benefiting pilgrims and fostering closer ties.
Enhanced Bilateral Relations and Discussions
During his visit to Pakistan, Dr Tawfiq met with President Arif Alvi and caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar. The meetings revolved around strengthening economic ties, promoting investment, and expanding bilateral trade. President Alvi appreciated Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for pivotal Muslim causes, including the issues of Jammu and Kashmir, Palestine, and Afghanistan. The caretaker prime minister also expressed gratitude towards the Saudi leadership for their exceptional Hajj arrangements and anticipated continuous special treatment for Pakistani Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
