The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported a fierce encounter between security forces and terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chitral district, leading to the death of seven terrorists and critical injuries to six others. The incident, which occurred in the Ursoon region of Chitral on Saturday, is now followed by a sanitisation process to ensure no remaining terrorists are nearby. Residents have praised the efforts of the security forces, demonstrating full support for eradicating terrorism from Pakistan.
Last month, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, emphasized Pakistan’s vital role as a fortress against terrorism, urging the global community to acknowledge the substantial sacrifices made by the nation. This sentiment was expressed during a session with international students from Harvard University at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. General Munir shed light on Pakistan’s potential and contributions towards fostering regional peace and stability in the discussion. Additionally, he denounced the ongoing atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and highlighted the initiatives to alter demographic realities in the area. The session was well-received, with students appreciating the constructive interaction facilitated by the COAS.
Furthermore, early in September, General Munir underscored the symbiotic relationship between a robust economy and an unassailable defense system, pinpointing cooperation as critical for the country’s economic growth. Celebrating Defence and Martyrs’ Day, he affirmed the harmonious bond between the military and the citizens, identifying it as a significant asset and condemning attempts to undermine this unity.
