At least 30 miscreants were killed in a clash with Frontier Corps (FC) in Khuzdar and Kalat districts of restive Balochistan province on Monday, according to officials.

Bugti said that those killed were involved in recent attacks on passenger trains and other acts of terrorism in the province.

The Frontier Corps said in a statement the operation began early Monday in the Farod area of Kalat district, around 300 kilometres (190 miles) southwest of the provincial capital Quetta.

According to FC sources, FC teams were backed by Special Wing troops and helicopters.

As a result of the operation, 30 rebels belong to banned outfits were killed while 10 FC troops sustained injuries in the battle

Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti has also confirmed the death toll
