2nd Test: Pakistan all out for 452

In the second day of the second Test against West Indies, Pakistan was all out for 452, with the match still in Pakistan’s control due to a lovely fifty from Sarfraz, and contributions from Nawaz and Sohail.

Earlier, Misbah-ul-Haq missed a century but Pakistan still amassed 401-6 at lunch.

The Pakistan skipper was just four runs away from his 11th century when he was trapped leg-before in the sixth over of the day by West Indian paceman Shannon Gabriel, the third occasion when he fell in the nervous 90s in Tests.

Nevertheless Pakistan posted 401 with Sarfraz Ahmed (45) and Mohammad Nawaz (16) at the crease, having added 59 for the seventh wicket.

Pakistan had resumed at 304-4 in the hope that Misbah and nightwatchman Yasir Shah would survive the second new ball which West Indies took at the start of play.

Shah was fortunate to escape a leg-before review off fast bowler Jason Holder but Misbah was unlucky to be dismissed in the next over.

Misbah missed an incoming delivery which hit him in front of the wickets, with English umpire Michael Gough raising his finger. The Pakistani skipper reluctantly reviewed the decision but without success.

He hit four boundaries and two sixes during his 162-ball stay.

Shah was the next to go as he pulled fast bowler Jason Holder straight to square-leg fielder Devendra Bishoo after scoring 23.

Ahmed paced his innings well, hitting four boundaries in his 53-ball knock, taking Pakistan past the 400 mark.

Paceman Gabriel was the pick of the bowlers with 3-57.

Pakistan leads the three-match series 1-0 after winning the first Test — a day-night affair played with pink ball — by 56 runs. (AFP)
