The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that at least 23 Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred following an attack by terrorists on a security forces’ post in Daraban, Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan).
As per the ISPR and initial reports, the assault took place during the night of December 11-12. At 0300 hours, terrorists launched an attack on a police station located in Daraban, DI Khan. Early indications suggest that the attack began with a Suicide Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (SVBIED) aimed at the station’s entrance.
The ISPR detailed that all six terrorists involved in the attack were engaged and neutralized. Following the attack, sanitization operations were initiated to clear the area of any remaining threats. This tragic incident has reinforced the security forces’ determination to eradicate terrorism from Pakistan.
Additionally, separate intelligence-based operations in the Darazinda and Kulachi areas resulted in the elimination of 21 terrorists. These operations also led to the recovery of weapons, ammunition, and explosives and, sadly, the martyrdom of two more soldiers.
Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti expressed his condemnation of the attack and deep sorrow over the loss of lives in a statement. This attack has been recognized as a significant blow to the nation, reflecting the ongoing struggle against terrorism in Pakistan and the sacrifices made by its security forces. The nation mourns the loss of its brave soldiers and stands united in the face of these challenges.
