Edwin Castro, the California man who won a record $2.04 billion lottery prize last year, had purchased a $25.5 million luxury mansion in Hollywood Hills. Unfortunately, his multimillion-dollar Malibu getaway was destroyed in the devastating Palisades Fire, reducing it to ashes, The New York Post reports.
After the deadly fire swept through the area, only concrete pillars and smouldering wood remained of Castro’s $3.8 million home, according to photos from The Post. This Malibu property was among several Castro bought following his historic lottery win in November 2022.

Footage from The US Sun captured the scene where Castro’s garage once housed his impressive car collection. Now, it is just foundations and planks of wood visible against a backdrop of a dramatically altered coastal resort, resembling an apocalyptic wasteland.

At its peak, the luxurious estate positioned Castro among high-profile neighbours such as singer Ariana Grande, actor Dakota Johnson, and comedian Jimmy Kimmel. However, the tragic fire obliterated the property, leaving only the echo of its past splendour.
