The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has banned the sale of 14 Ayurvedic medicines produced by Divya Pharmacy and Patanjali Ayurveda Limited.
On July 9, the Supreme Court ordered Patanjali Ayurved Ltd, established by yoga guru Ramdev, to submit an affidavit. The affidavit must clarify whether the company has withdrawn advertisements for its 14 products. These products had their manufacturing licenses initially suspended but later restored.
Earlier, on April 15, the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority suspended the manufacturing licenses for these 14 products from Patanjali Ayurved Ltd and Divya Pharmacy.
The ban enforcement in Noida followed a directive issued by the Regional Ayurvedic and Unani Officer of Gautam Buddh Nagar on Friday, as confirmed by officials.
This directive aligns with orders from the State Drug Licensing Authority, Ayurvedic and Unani Services of Uttarakhand. The district information office has informed all medical practitioners and medical stores in the district to immediately stop selling these 14 products.
The products affected include Swasari Gold, Swasari Vati, Bronchom, Swasari Pravahi, Swasari Avaleh, Mukta Vati Extra Power, Lipidom, Madhu Grit, BP Grit, Madhunashini Vati Extra Power, Livamrit Advance, Livogrit, Eyegrit Gold, and Patanjali Drishti Eye Drop.
Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Kem, Regional Ayurvedic and Unani Officer in Gautam Buddh Nagar, stated, “Following the directives of the State Drug Licensing Authority Ayurvedic and Unani Services, Uttarakhand, Dehradun, we have cancelled the manufacturing license for the list of 14 medicines from Divya Pharmacy and Patanjali Ayurveda Limited.”
