A woman was killed in firing by Indian Border Security Forces along the Line of Control (LoC) on Saturday.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Indian forces violated the ceasefire agreement once again and resorted to unprovoked firing at Pakistani villages along the villages, thus killing an elderly woman.
Pakistan Army also responded to the Indian firing and silenced their guns, said the ISPR.
Since 2015, Indian forces had violated the ceasefire at the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary with Pakistan 221 times.
While similar number of violations by the Indian forces was more than 180 along the LoC and the Working Boundary in 2016.

As tension escalated in the region recently, cross-border exchange of fire was increasingly becoming frequent between the nuclear-armed rivals.
