The Sindh Assembly Monday demanded the disbandment of the Council of Islamic Ideology. It also passed a resolution to stop implementation on the CII’s earlier decisions.

The resolution was moved by Pakistan Muslim League-Functional’s (PML-F) leader Mehtab Akhtar Rashidi.

The Assembly expressed serious reservations over the recent decisions taken by the CII with regards to women.

It moreover demanded of the federal government that any implementation of the CII’s recommendations on underage marriages and DNA tests should be stopped

The CII has ruled that the age of consent should not be a requirement for marriage while recommending that the law seeking permission of the first wife while contracting a second marriage should also be changed.

Why we need a council to implement Islamic ideology? There are lot of critical issues to be addressed but thank to the chief of CII, he has found the only critical issue ” permission of wife for the 2nd marriage is not required”, . Why the moulana is so keen to have it amended now? Why bother, why 90% Moulanas are child molesters. I mean this is a realty and we can’t negate from this.

We are very proud to vocal about it. I think rest of provincial bodies should also react on this.

Why the Mulla are so keen for under age marriage? Is this a fantasy for them? I am really unable to understand this philosophy? We are the only Islamic Country having such ridiculous arguments.
