The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) earlier today changed the portfolios of some of its ministers, including big names like Sharjeel Memon and Nisar Khuhro.
Memon, who had the portfolios of local bodies and information has been removed from his post and given the charge of works and services and archive ministries. While, provincial Education Minister Nisar Khuhro has been given the portfolio of information and irrigation ministries.
Mir Hazar Khan Bajrani’s portfolio has also been changed from works and services to education. Further, the ministry of local bodies which was earlier under Memon has been given to Nisar Shah.
Minister for Information Technology Mukesh Chawla’s portfolio was also changed and he will now head the Ministry of Public Health Engineering.
Some changes in the bureaucracy were also made as Additional Chief Secretary (Development) P&D & Special Initiatives Department Muhammad Waseem was given added responsibility of administrator Karachi. While Ijaz Memon has been given the charge of secretary works and development.
Earlier on Tuesday, a special meeting of the PPP leadership, co-chaired by Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari in Dubai, expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of some of the provincial ministries and departments.
The meeting, attended by Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Memon, Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, MNA Faryal Talpur and Senator Rehman Malik, reviewed the overall performance of the Sindh government.
The meeting reviewed the performance of the provincial ministries and government departments. According to sources, the meeting expressed disappointment over not removing inefficient or corrupt officers from their posts.
