The Sindh High Court has suspended Sindh government’s notification for removal of Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khawaja.
Annulling the orders regarding the posting of Abdul Majid Dasti,a grade-21 officer, as the new IGP, the court ordered immediate reinstatement of Khawaja as the provincial police chief.
During a hearing today, the bench suspended both the notifications, one surrendering AD Khowaja’s services to the Centre and another appointing Sardar Abdul Majeed Dasti as acting police chief.
The provincial government on 31st March surrendered AD Khowaja’s services to the federal government and recommended names of three officers as his replacement.
A day later, without waiting for Islamabad’s confirmation, the government appointed Grade-21 officer Sardar Abdul Majeed as acting IG Sindh.
