The Vice President of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Sherry Rehman today claimed that the Senate Chairman will be from her party.
Addressing a program to mark the International Women’s Day in Karachi, Sherry Rehman said PPP has been in contact with other parties in connection with the election of Senate Chairman.
She said the government was also approaching PPP but maintained that her party will emerge the winner as far as election of Senate Chairman was concerned.
Sherry Rehman said more than 80 rights being enjoyed by today’s women of Pakistan were the result of PPP’s struggle.
“PPP’s Jiyali (Benazir Bhutto) remain on the forefront in the struggle for democracy,” she said.
She said this time around the PPP would fight the local bodies’ polls as if they are general elections.
