Karachi Rangers killed Lyari warlord Noor Muhammad alias Baba Ladla and two other gangsters in overnight Rangers action in Lyari area of Karachi on Thursday.
Baba Ladla was an important commander of Lyari Gang while the two other gangsters were Sikander alias Sikku and Yaseen Baloch.
The Rangers spokesman confirmed the killing of the gangster, saying two other criminals who were eliminated overnight are Sikandar alias Seeko and Yasin alias Mama.
Three other gangsters fled from the scene getting the advantage of darkness while one Rangers official was wounded in an exchange of firing.
The press release also revealed that Baba Ladla had, with the help of Uzair Baloch, committed the murders of Shera Pathan, Arshad Pappu and Yasir Arafat. It also stated that in March 2013, Baba Ladla had kidnapped a group of Muhajirs and murdered them.
The press release also shed light on the other gangster gunned down in the operation, Sikander alias Siku. According to the Rangers, Sikander was wanted in more than 15 crimes by police. Baba Ladla was described by Rangers as a close aide of Baba Ladla and was also his facilitator.
According to details, personnel of paramilitary force put security cordon in Lyari area of Phool Patti Lane. Finding them besieged, the criminals opened fire at the paratroopers.
In retaliatory fire, three operatives of Lyari gang-war were killed including the vital character Baba Ladla.
Paratroopers recovered weapons, hand grenades and explosive material from the possession of the miscreants.
It should be mentioned here that Baba Ladla was claimed to be killed earlier in May 2014 near Iranian border along with his two accessories. However, the officials did not confirm this report.
Again in August 2015, the reports surfaced that he was eliminated in Balochistan.
