Long after the falire of its Dharnas and crippling strikes, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is still harping on about “election rigging” that allegedly took place in constituencies where PTI’s candidates were defeated. Barring, KPK, where (according to PTI) there was no rigging since the PTI was elected there. They had tendered their resignations to the assemblies. Leaving the people who had elected them in the lurch.
Now taking yet another Uturn for which the PTI is famous they yesterday linked the return of its elected representatives in the assemblies with the government’s notification to form Judicial Commission to probe last general elections.
Addressing a press conference after a meeting of PTI’s core committee, the party’s Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that matters pertaining to formation of judicial commission came under discussion.
Highlighting the salient features of the agreement between the government and the PTI, Qureshi said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is bound to dissolve assemblies “if” rigging is proved in last general elections.
He said that judicial commission will have a right to take assistance from any institution including Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI).
The PTI senior leader stated that all political parties must have confidence on chiefs of NADRA, FIA and Election Commission.
However, the PTI leader made no mention as to what the PTI will do if no rigging allegations are proved.
