A local accountability court sentenced former provincial minister of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Ali Nawaz Shah, to a five-year imprisonment over misuse of authorities in the allotment of government lands.
According sources, Ali Nawaz Shah was awarded the sentence after his involvement in the corruption proved.
In the same case, Khadim Ali Shah and Imtiaz Ali Shah were awarded three-year jail term and Rs.0.5 million fine each.
Ali Nawaz Shah was elected MPA in 2008 on PPP’s ticket and later served as Sindh forest minister.
Investigators said the minister and his accomplices received excessive price for land allotment causing loses worth billions to the national excheque.
