Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders, Syed Khursheed Shah and Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, visited the central jail to meet Syed Nawaz Ali Shah who was awarded five-year imprisonment by an accountability court in a  corruption case.

According to sources, Khursheed Shah and Qaim Ali Shah met Nawaz Ali Shah in central jail and decided to challenge his conviction in the Supreme Court.

PPP Co-Chairman and former President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, in a statement said “It is strange that Shah is sentenced to five years in jail for compensation paid to him by the state for his property in 2001. If this becomes the norm and judicial processes are thus misused and manipulated to secure convictions of political opponents, things will go too far.”
