Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has ruled out any possibility of military coup in the wake of long marches to be launched tomorrow by Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
“I don’t see any possibility of military intervention or any coup,” Asif said in an interview with Bloomberg.
The defence minister further said that the government’s ties with the military are “cordial and fine.”
“We have complete consensus, complete agreement on foreign policy and armed forces requirements,” he said.
