Gilgit: The polling for elections on 24 seats of the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Legislative Assembly began at 8:00 AM and will continue till 5:00PM.
Earlier, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) called Pakistan Army and polling in GB will be held under Army supervision.
According toElection Commission of Pakistan (ECP) officials, election material has been hand-over to Pakistani army who will be supervising to polling stations in the seven GB districts.
Over six hundred thousand will vote to elect 24 legislators. Out of these 24 seats eight members, three technocrats and five women will be indirectly elected
Electioneering campaigns ended on Saturday, 24 hours before the scheduled day of the polls.
