The prices of petroleum products may be slashed as a federal petroleum ministry has proposed reduction in prices from August and summary has been dispatched to the finance ministry.

According to the sources privy to the federal petroleum ministry, petrol is expected to reduce by Rs.1.30 per liter from the next month, high-speed diesel price by Rs.1.10 and light-speed diesel is likely to drop by Rs. 2.50/liter.

The sources said the kerosene oil also will fall by Rs.1.20/lit.
