A man packing a pistol was apprehended from inside the Sindh Assembly building earlier today during an ongoing session.
According to reports, a person approached Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah during the assembly session and informed him about a suspect conceal carrying a pistol in the assembly building.
However, the suspect was apprehended by the police and the gun was handed over to the Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani.
Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Sial ordered arrest of the suspect. “We will probe into the matter and submit inquiry before this House,” he said.
The man, is believed to be a private TV talk-show host, he breached the security of the assembly building in an apparent bid to expose the ‘security situation’ outside the Sindh Assembly.
Meanwhile, members of the opposition protested against the poor security arrangements, calling it negligence on part of the government.
