Karachi: The rangers cordon off surrounding the Nine Zero—the MQM’s headquarters—for a targeted operation on Wednesday.
According to sources, the paramilitary force is conducting a search operation in Azizabad to round up the suspected people by sealing off all roads leading to Mukka Chowk.
Several people, including some important MQM figures, have been taken into custody. Six ranger’s vehicles are partaking in the operation amidst the heavy presence of media.
Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) leader Mustafa Azizabadi condemned the ranger’s operation at the party’s headquarters in Karachi.
Talking to the media, he said the banned outfits had been given unrestricted leeway to conduct their nefarious activities in the country, adding the injustices and oppression against MQM workers have been taken to extreme levels.
He said the MQM leaders, including Amir Khan and Abdul Haseeb, were present during the raid, and none of the Nine Zero workers and leaders could be contacted thus far.
Azizabadi remarked that the paramilitary personnel raided different departments, ransacked the offices and arrested different staffers of the party’s central headquarters.
MQM’s many workers, he bristled, were martyred, but no raid and action are being undertaken to capture their assassin.
