Pakistan cricketers barred from performing the celebratory push-ups after it came under discussion in a meeting of Senate Standing Committee where lawmakers expressed their ‘concerns’ over cricketers’ unique style to rejoice the win in the ground.
According to local news channel ‘Samaa News’, the matter unexpectedly came under discussion in Senate Standing Committee where lawmakers has shown their concern.
Chairman PCB Executive Committee, Najam Sethi appeared before the NA Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination and assured the members that this only happened during the England tour and the players will not repeat it.

PML-N MNA Rana Afzal raised the issue during the meeting, asking why do they not offer prayers rather than doing push-ups. He wondered why the players remained silent when they lost.
Pakistan celebrated their victory over England in the first Test at Lord’s on Sunday by performing a series of press-ups although defeated skipper Alistair Cook admitted it wasn’t pleasant viewing.
In July this year, Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq performed several press-ups to celebrate his unbeaten 110 against England in the first Test in London.
His celebration also included a salute to the Pakistan flag flying above the pavilion, in a reference to Pakistan’s gruelling pre-tour boot camp at a military academy in Kakul.
Two days later, the entire team celebrated their victory over England in the first Test at Lord’s by performing a series of press-ups.
This style was also copied by former cricketer and commentator David Lloyd.
