Flour millers called off their strike on Tuesday after getting assurance from Sindh Food Department for uninterrupted wheat supply from four districts of the province. The strike would have affected supplies of the staple commodity though out the province.
The millers will also sell 10kg flour bags for Rs385.
The decision was taken after a meeting held between Chairman Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA), Sindh Chapter, Chaudhry Mohammad Yousuf and Secretary Food Naseer Jamali.
More than 80 mills had closed down their production from April 22, 2014 to protest against the huge bribes demanded by officials from transporters.
The PFMA chief said that Jamali had asked the millers to inform him in case some officials demand bribe for releasing wheat loaded vehicles.
“We will start running our mills from Wednesday. He added.
