Law enforcers have shifted Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain from the National Institute of Cardio Vascular Diseases (NICVD) after he was discharged from the hospital, according to sources earlier today.
The former federal minister had been under the treatment at the National Institute of Cardio Vascular Diseases (NICVD) for the past week after he complained of cardiac pain and his condition deteriorated.
But on Sunday, a medical board declared that Dr Asim was not suffering from any heart-related medical problems, and that he could be discharged from the hospital. Doctors said that Dr Asim’s health condition was gradually improving while he was no longer suffering from stomach acidity either.
The former federal minister was taken back into Rangers’ custody after being discharged from hospital today.
Dr Asim is currently under a 90-day physical remand by an anti-terrorism court and is being investigated on corruption charges relating to the affairs of Pakistan Medical Dental Council (PMDC), Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd (SSGCL), Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) and illegal land allotments.
