The banned sectarian hate mongering outfit Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat’s (ASWJ) district Korangi president Mullah  Shabbir Hyderi was gunned down, while his companion was injured in a firing incident in Korangi area of Karachi today evening.

Mullah Hyderi, 45, and his companion Khad Din, 35, were traveling on their motorbike when unidentified assailants in a car attacked them within the limits of Awami Colony police station.

Hyderi died on the spot while his companion suffered injuries.

An ASWJ spokesperson added that the victims were on their way to attend a party meeting in Malir when they were attacked.

Mullah  Hyderi’s as well as Din’s corpses were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where scores of ASWJ leaders and workers  shouted slogans against the incident. They also demanded that the authorities bring the culprits to book.
