Karachi: Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police, Ghulam Haider Jamali on Tuesday said that an operation in Karachi against the Lyari gangsters is ongoing.
While briefing the cabinet meeting at Chief Minister House in Karachi today, Jamali said that 81 Lyari gang war suspects have been apprehended so far.
He went on to say that the suspects arrested linked to the Safoora carnage are involved in 38 other crimes as well, adding that they are highly educated.
The IG Sindh further said that the suspects used to communicate through Voice over IP (VoIP) instead of using mobile phones.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah chaired a cabinet meeting today at the CM House which reviewed the security situation in the province.
