The Pakistan government has fixed the Nisab for Zakat 2025 at Rs179,689 for the Islamic year 1445-46 AH, covering savings, profit-and-loss-sharing, and similar deposits.
With Ramadan approaching, here’s how to calculate your owe this year, set for deduction around March 1-2, 2025 (pending moon sighting).
How to Calculate Your Zakat
Zakat is 2.5% of your savings exceeding the Nisab threshold of Rs179,689. If your account balance on the first day of Ramadan meets or exceeds this amount, you’re obligated to pay. Simply:
- Check your total savings.
- Subtract Rs179,689.
- Multiply the remainder by 0.025 (2.5%).

- Accounts at or above this threshold face automatic deductions, with funds sent to Central Zakat Account CZ-08 at SBP.
