Retired Major Adil Raja, a controversial YouTuber, was ordered by a British court to pay a fine of £10,000 in a defamation case.
The court rejected Raja’s attempts to dismiss the lawsuit brought against him by Retired Brigadier Rashid. This judgment encompasses both the injunction in the defamation case and associated security costs.
In a decisive ruling by Judge Richard Spearman of the British High Court, Raja’s petitions were dismissed as baseless, marking a significant legal setback for him. The court ordered Raja to pay £5,000 to Brigadier Rashid by April 17, 2024.
Raja participated via video link, represented by his lawyer and PTI UK leader Mehtab Anwar. Retired Brigadier Rashid filed the initial lawsuit on August 11, 2022.
Adil Raja, who gained notoriety through his YouTube channel, has lived in the UK since April 2022, further complicating his legal and public relations challenges in this case.
