CEO Neal Mohan announced that YouTube will soon integrate Google’s Veo 3 AI video generation model to boost creativity on its Shorts platform at Cannes Lions 2025.
Revealed at Google I/O 2025, Veo 3 enhances YouTube’s AI tools like Dream Screen, enabling creators to generate high-quality video clips and backgrounds for Shorts. The model, developed by Google DeepMind, supports native audio generation, including ambient sounds and dialogue, and improves prompt adherence, real-world physics, and lip-syncing. Mohan stated in a blog post, “Veo 3 will supercharge creativity, delivering cinematic-quality videos.” The feature is set to launch this summer, though no exact date was confirmed.
