Peshawar, Mardan: Chief Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan addressing a huge gathering in Mardan on Thursday, said that he is the architect of the Local Government system for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).
Khan said, “Switzerland is a country with cows and mountains only, but the people are prosperous because they are independent. They manage their schools, hospitals and dispensaries.”
Imran said the people in KPK will elect 45,000 representatives from all over the province as compared to Punjab, which, comprising 60% of Pakistan’s population, will only elect about 35,000 representatives.
Khan claimed, “The youth will be empowered for their education, their sports ground. You will make decisions under the newly-structured local government system,”
Khan mocking Awami National Party (ANP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JHI-F), said, “secular ANP and right-wing Maulana Fazlur Rehman joined hands against PTI.”
“The ANP did not conduct local government elections because they were happy with an easy load system, where MPAs and MNAs took hold of money and funds,” he said.
He vowed that the people of KPK would no longer need to run after MNAs as funds would be disseminated to the district and village levels.
“This is real freedom when Mardan is freed. Mardan would make its own decisions, and Peshawar would not influence its decision-making,” Khan added.
