Julia Wendell, a 21-year-old Polish young woman who surprised the world by claiming to be Madeleine McCann over the weekend, demands respect and wants social media users to stop tormenting her.
She is currently the focus of numerous online taunts and attacks, despite getting thousands of messages of support from individuals worldwide.
Her current social media following exceeds 100,000, she has been trending on Twitter since Sunday, and media outlets around the globe have already covered her story.
Owing to this, she uploaded a video to his profile on Tuesday with the following message from his spokesperson:
Although you are interested in Julia’s hunt for answers, we are conducting an investigation. The caption reads, “To everyone interested in Julia’s search for answers, please understand we are in the middle of an investigation. This is a vulnerable woman seeking answers about her identity and her life. Regardless of your opinions, she is a human being who deserves respect. When everything is done in the investigation in a few weeks, you can learn more, but more now, please respect this woman’s privacy.
Her background was challenging and messy. There is no need to spew hatred, judgment, and especially threats towards a person in need. This is unacceptable and needs to stop.”
Julia issued an appeal over the weekend to reach the McCann family. She asserts that the police are not giving her any attention.
She launched her campaign by giving evidence that, in her perspective, strengthens the likelihood that Madeleine McCann exists.
In addition to the physical resemblance he has demonstrated with numerous photographs, he explains that his family is extremely secretive about his early years, that he has not been able to locate his birth certificate, that his alleged family does not wish to undergo DNA testing, and that she was abused as a child by a German national. This German national was once linked to the disappearance of Maddie.
Katia and Gerry McCann granted consent on Monday for the DNA samples to be matched, despite their reluctance and lack of public pronouncements. Various leads have been pursued in the 16 years since Madeleine’s disappearance, including this one.
