Across Pakistan, mourning processions in cities such as Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar commemorate Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS)’s sacrifice in 680 CE, symbolising resistance against oppression. Ulema and Zakireen will deliver sermons on Karbala’s teachings, emphasising justice and faith. Over 2 million participated in 1,689 processions and 3,900 majlis, per Punjab Police, reflecting the event’s cultural and spiritual weight.

To ensure safety, authorities deployed 150,000 police personnel nationwide, with mobile services suspended in Quetta, Sukkur, and other cities until 8:00 PM, per Interior Ministry.
