The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is rumoured to debut in China soon, expanding the Xiaomi 15 series as part of the company’s premium smartphone offerings.

According to recent leaks, the upcoming model might feature a new self-developed chip, enhancing its impressive specifications, including a 1-inch 50-megapixel main rear sensor within a triple camera setup, an IP69-rated build, and a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC.

A tipster hinted that the new Xiaomi flagship might incorporate a proprietary “small surge” chip, although specific details about its functionality remain undisclosed. Xiaomi’s existing Surge chips optimize battery life, charging efficiency, and overall performance. Industry observers like GizmoChina speculate that this new chip could focus on specialized tasks such as signal enhancement, continuing Xiaomi’s trend of integrating bespoke technology to enhance user experience.

Anticipated Launch and Features of Xiaomi 15 Ultra

Reports indicate that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra may launch at the end of February, potentially on February 28, or during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in March. The device is expected to feature a Leica-branded quad rear camera array. This setup is likely to include a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 1-inch sensor, a secondary 50-megapixel camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and two telephoto lenses—one 50-megapixel with 3x optical zoom and another 200-megapixel capable of up to 4.3x optical zoom.

Additionally, enhancements in the camera department could include an upgraded macro sensor offering a larger aperture across the focal range and a low-light telephoto camera that improves upon the capabilities of its predecessors.

As the launch approaches, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is set to garner significant attention for its advanced specifications and potential integration of unique chip technology that could set new benchmarks in smartphone performance and functionality.
