A young woman has been arrested on the charge of killing her father in connivance with her friend, a police spokesman said on Sunday.
On June 26, Tahir Hussain, a resident of Meharban Town, lodged a complaint with the Koral police that his brother Zahid Hussain was killed in front of his 21-year-old daughter by two persons who also raped her.
The police registered a case but failed to trace the suspects. On July 3, SSP Islamabad Mohammad Ali Nekokara directed SP (investigation) Jameel Ahmed Hashmi to form a team and probe the case.
The team recorded the statements of the family members, including the daughter of the deceased. After investigating the case from different angles, the police suspected that the daughter was involved in the killing of her father.
During further investigation, the woman confessed to killing her father in connivance with her friend, a resident of Murree.
The suspect told the investigators that she called her friend to her house at midnight on June 26 where her father saw them together.
The suspect said when her father started beating her friend, they (the woman and her friend) strangled him.
The police later also arrested the man and obtained a three-day physical remand of both the suspects.
