The Rawalpindi division, encompassing 13 National Assembly and 27 Punjab Assembly seats, has come under scrutiny following allegations of electoral rigging.
The controversy was sparked by Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chatha’s resignation during a press conference, where he admitted to rigging the 2024 elections within the division.
The division is structured as follows: Jhelum district holds two National Assembly (NA) and four Punjab Assembly seats; two NA and five provincial seats represent Attock district; Chakwal district comprises two NA and four Punjab Assembly seats; Rawalpindi district features six NA and 12 provincial seats; and Murree has one NA and two provincial assembly seats.
